The National Celtic Honor Society (NCHS) was founded to fill a critical gap in high school cultural education. While many schools offer avenues to explore various global heritages, the rich, interconnected histories, languages, and arts of the Celtic nations - Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, and the Isle of Man - are often overlooked in standard curricula.
We believe that studying these ancient and vibrant cultures offers students profound insights into art, literature, resilience, and community. The NCHS was established as a rigorous academic honor society to elevate this study, recognizing high school students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to our four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Cultural Appreciation, and Service.
Cultural preservation relies on inclusive education. Membership in the NCHS is not based on ancestry, DNA, or family names. We are a community of dedicated student scholars. Whether a student is connecting with their own family heritage or simply possesses a deep, passionate interest in studying Celtic history and arts, they are welcome here. We are united by roots or by reach.
Kale Davis, Founder & Executive Director
Founded by a high school educator, the NCHS is built on a deep understanding of the high school club ecosystem. Recognizing the need for a formalized, rigorous platform for students passionate about Celtic culture, the NCHS was created to provide the structure, academic standards, and national recognition that these students deserve.
The National Celtic Honor Society is currently establishing its formal 501(c)(3) non-profit status. We operate with full transparency and a singular dedication to educational enrichment.
